SUMMER TIMELINE
Welcome to the family edition of the Rutgers University in Camden New Student Newsletter! We’re excited to share with you stories of students engaging in civic learning projects, faculty making cutting-edge breakthroughs in their fields, and all of the hands-on research opportunities that await your Scarlet Raptor.
In the coming months, the Office of Admissions will send you these emails with important information to help you support your student as they prepare for their first semester as a Scarlet Raptor. To get started, we’ve provided a brief timeline of what you can expect during the summer. Keep in mind that students’ requirements or expectations might be different depending on the program.
COMPLETE YOUR NEXT STEPS
Students should check their next steps for enrollment on your MyRutgers Dashboard by logging in with your NetID and password. Next steps include placement testing, submitting final official transcripts, reviewing credit evaluations, and more.
STUDENT ORIENTATION, ADVISING, AND REGISTRATION (SOAR)
Students will complete next steps, connect with campus resources, and meet with academic advisors for course registration. It may take up to two business days after a student accepts their admission for a registration link to be sent to them. For more information on registering, have your student check the enrollment steps on their myRutgers Dashboard. Attendance is required to register for classes. Please note that students in off-campus programs and some online programs may have different requirements for advising and registration.
RAPTOR WELCOME WEEKEND
Raptor Welcome is an on-campus orientation program for all new students with events spanning August 30th to September 1st. It’s a chance to meet fellow classmates and participate in activities to help prepare for the college experience. More information about Raptor Welcome will be sent to new students throughout the summer.
NEXT STEPS
Encourage your student to check the myRutgers portal for the most up-to-date list of next steps to complete enrollment.
