FACULTY & RESEARCH
Your future professors at Rutgers University in Camden are world-class researchers that lead in their fields. With our small class sizes and close-knit campus, you’ll have the opportunity to work one-on-one with them. That’s how our students help shape the world through their research.
The Rutgers–Camden community is forging the future. Here are some recent research highlights from our faculty and your future professors:
• Computer Science. Check out assistant professor of computer science Sheikh Rabiul Islam’s research on the potential for AI to improve public safety.
• Art. Professor of art Margery Amdur turned the Stedman Gallery into a community space for her collaborative exhibition, Seams to be Constructed.
• STEM. For his contributions to applied mathematics, including in robotics and biology, distinguished professor and chair of mathematics Benedetto Piccoli received the 2024 W. T. and Idalia Reid Prize from the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics.
• Business & Nursing. Gregory Passanante, alumnus of the Doctor of Nursing Program program and the MBA program, has returned to Rutgers–Camden as a lecturer with an important perspective on the intersection of nursing and business.
• Criminal Justice. Christopher Thomas, assistant professor of criminal justice, recently published research on the link between volatile weather and crime.
