RUC Student Spotlight: Eion

RUC Student Spotlight: Eion

This week’s student spotlight goes to: EION!

This is a relatively new blog series that is giving the chance to Rutgers—Camden students to be featured on our blog page. It gives the chance for students to also show off what they have been able to accomplish here at Rutgers—Camden and a way to give themselves an opportunity to show their pathway to success to hopefully help others!

Eion is currently a sophomore who will be graduating in May 2023. He is a Nursing major here at Rutgers—Camden. Eion has always wanted to help others and saw Nursing as a perfect opportunity to do so. However, wanting to help others was not the only reason behind choosing Nursing. Eion knew that his major would be the perfect fit for him because of his love of science and how easily he understood it. He also knew that he was very comfortable with interacting with others. This goes to show that when choosing a major everything is taken into consideration from personality to knowing what comes easy or not.

Nursing is one of, what some will say, to be one of the hardest curriculums on campus, but despite this Eion has been able to make himself right at home here. Eion has met with many other people within his major to form tight knit study groups. But studying is not the only thing that Eion has taken away from this experience. He has begun to learn his potential and of course friends and memories that will last a lifetime. Eion has also managed to be involved in other clubs and organizations.

Eion is the President of the Filipino League of Innovative Pinoy Students (FLIPS). FLIPS is a cultural club that “enrich[es] and educate[s] all students with knowledge and experiences of Filipino-American culture, value, and traditions.” You can find more information about this organization by going on the Engage platform. When finding more free time, he loves going to the gym to play some ping pong with his friends or just to go to workout! Not to mention that he even has his very own YouTube channel (@etcooldude)! If not found doing any of these then he’s most likely journaling.
