Hey Raptors! My name is Kiyoshi, and I am one of the Raptor Ambassador Leaders! I am currently a Junior graduating in May 2023, majoring in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Psychology. Initially, I wanted to be a surgeon for as long as I could remember. I was amazed to see the white coats running around the hospital when I was younger. I knew I wanted to help give back to those who helped my family. I kept this dream until I was about to enter Rutgers my first year when I first started working in research. I fell in love with the idea of asking big questions about the world around me and realizing there are other ways to help people than just being a physician.
Throughout my time at Rutgers, I have gotten to understand the ins and outs of research and science. I have thoroughly enjoyed all Rutgers-Camden has to offer regarding undergraduate research opportunities. I currently plan on obtaining my Ph.D. in Neuroscience after my time at Rutgers-Camden! Here on campus other than research and my time with the Raptor Ambassador program, I am a Resident Assistant and am the Vice President and Community Service/Social Media Chair for my fraternity Alpha Chi Rho! You will most likely find me either in the library studying or at the Welcome Center with the other ambassadors!
Outside of Rutgers, I spend my time at CVS as a Pharmacy Technician, scour the streets of Philadelphia for new ramen spots, and make playlists for my friends! I am trying to get back into the gym and have taken up vinyl collecting (a quite expensive hobby if I might add).
I cannot wait to meet to new Scarlet Raptors and for all the things to come for the rest of the school year!
