Towards the end of a journey, you start thinking about the beginning, you reflect on experiences, and feel an overwhelming sense of nostalgia. As a senior graduating in May 2022, I cannot help but think about my time spent at Rutgers University-Camden. My four years at this school have made such an impact on who I am today. I have gained so much through my education in the nursing program, as well as many life skills. I have improved my way of thinking, communication skills, and have had an immense amount of personal growth throughout these four years.
Now that graduation is approaching, I am sure all current seniors feel the same way. It is a “bitter-sweet” feeling completing college and moving on to the next steps. Graduation has a funny way of affecting all students, not just seniors and other students partaking in commencement. Juniors see the ones above them moving on and are met with this sense of anticipation knowing that will be them in the next year. Sophomores and freshmen are moving through their course curriculum with less and less time left in their college experience. It is so essential to make each moment count. With all these different emotions, Rutgers-Camden makes these difficult transition processes simpler and has prepared you for the next steps in your journey.
I have made so many memories here and made connections with such a diverse group of people. Even though college was four years, I have so many valuable skills and connections that I am sure will last a lifetime. Rutgers-Camden has been home to so many students, and now seniors are about to leave and close this chapter of their lives. I think I speak for all of us when I say thank you Rutgers-Camden for always treating us with kindness and respect and thank you so much for helping us grow and develop our skill set. We will enter our future careers and next steps fully equipped thanks to the guidance and support given to us for four years. Due to my experiences here, entering the real world (which is a task that should be frightening) seems a little bit less scary, and I owe that all to Rutgers-Camden.
