Favourite Memories of Rutgers—Camden

Favourite Memories of Rutgers—Camden

Throughout our years at Rutgers—Camden there are so many different memories to be made. Here are some favorite memories that our Rutgers—Camden Raptor Ambassadors and students have to share:

LeAnne H.: My favorite memory on campus was the first day of tennis practice. I was so nervous about meeting the team living on campus. This was the first ever that I was going to be out on my own without any guidance from my parents. Lucky enough I had my best friend as my roommate, so that made things better. However, it was a brand new world out there and I was absolutely terrified. After my first day of practice, I got to explore the campus a bit more and knew that Rutgers was where I was supposed to be. I felt home.

Cris P.: My favorite memory at Rutgers—Camden was going abroad twice. During my freshman year, I went to Ireland for a filming class. Then during my junior year I was able to go to Peru for a Spanish class. These learning abroad classes gave me the opportunity to travel the world as well as knowing cool and interesting places I dreamed of visiting now like Dublin, Ireland or Machu Picchu, Peru.

Emily M.: My favorite memory on campus was Spring Fling. In 2018, DJ Pauly D came to campus and we had a get-together in the gym. Then during Spring 2019, there was a carnival that lasted throughout the day. There was popcorn, cotton candy, and circus people doing amazing tricks. My friends and I had such an amazing time eating food and watching a live circus! Plus, it was such a beautiful day!

Abhi K.: My favorite memory of Rutgers—Camden is doing community service for the Honors College during my freshman year. That year I worked with the New Jersey Tree Foundation. We walk around Camden to dig holes for us to plant new trees along sidewalks. It was a lot of fun to learn how to plant trees and to see that there are so many different opportunities that this campus can provide its students. It was also nice to help give back to the Camden community!

Haedam: My favorite memory on campus was when my friends and I would go to the cafeteria everyday to get a break away from all the schoolwork. During lunch or dinner I loved being able to talk to them about numerous things from gossip to politics. Sometimes we even danced and taught each other Tik Tok moves! This was the place where we could go when we were all stressed out from all of our nursing classes, so we could gather all our energy up and to be happy. I can not imagine how I could have gotten through nursing school without my friends and I eating lunch and or dinner together.

Morgan: My favorite memory at Rutgers—Camden was my freshman year. That year I was able to live with my best friend. The day after we had moved in we walked around campus to familiarize ourselves with where our classes were. We were so concerned that we weren’t going to make it to our classes on time because we were going to be lost. Also that day we got to see a whole box of donuts laying on top of a trash can!

As you can see there are many opportunities for memories to be made here at Rutgers—Camden. All you have to do is go out and explore the campus and the memories will come to you! I wish you the best of luck here at Rutgers—Camden and don’t forget to make the best out of the time that you have left here!
